The 19th European Congress of Psychiatry was organised in Vienna, Austria, from 12-15 March 2011 under the presidency of Professor Patrice Boyer.

The congress was attended by over 4000 participants.

2010: 18th European Congress of Psychiatry in Munich

The 18th European Congress of Psychiatry under the motto “Improve the Quality of Psychiatric Research & Treatment in Europe” was organised in Munich, Germany, from 27 February to 2 March 2010 under the presidency of Professor Hans-Jürgen Möller. 2009: 17th European Congress of Psychiatry in Lisbon

The 17th European Congress of Psychiatry was organised in Lisbon, Portugal, from 24 to 28 January 2009 under the presidency of Professor Hans-Jürgen Möller.

This multidisciplinary congress focused on “New Diagnostic Approaches in Psychiatry: Relevance for Research and Practice in Europe”.

2008: 16th European Congress of Psychiatry in Nice

The 16th European Congress of Psychiatry was held in Nice, France, from 5 to 9 April 2008 and attended by 3.000 participants from 77 countries.

The event was organised under the presidency of Professor Cyril Höschl.

The theme of the Congress was: “Pathways to Integrative Care”.

2007: 15th European Congress of Psychiatry in MadridThe 15th European Congress of Psychiatry took place in Madrid, Spain, from 17 to 21 March 2007 under the presidency of Professor Cyril Höschl.

The theme of the Congress was: “European Psychiatry - Art and Science”. This successful event was attended by more than 3.500 participants.

2006: 14th European Congress of Psychiatry in Nice

The 14th European Congress of Psychiatry took place in March 2006 in Nice, France, under the presidency of Professor Henning Sass.

The theme of the Congress was: “New perspectives on treatment in psychiatry”. The high-quality Scientific Program provided a full update on the most important aspects of treatment and patient care and attracted more than 2.700 participants from 62 countries.

2005: 13th AEP Congress in Munich

The 13th AEP Congress took place in Munich, Germany, from 2 to 6 April 2005 under the presidency of Professor Henning Sass.

The theme of the Congress was: “European Psychiatry: The interface between biological and social factors” and more than 2.000 participants from 61 countries enjoyed its rich Scientific Programme.

2004: 12th AEP Congress in Geneva

The 12th AEP Congress took place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 14 to 18 April 2004 under the presidency of Professor Mario Maj. Its theme was: “European Psychiatry: Evidence and Experience”.

This Congress was well attended and featured a very attractive Scientific Programme, representing the most significant research lines currently active in Europe.

2002: 11th AEP Congress in Stockholm

The 11th AEP Congress took place in Stockholm, Sweden, from 4 to 8 May 2002 under the presidency of Professor Göran Sedvall. Its theme was: “European Psychiatry, Science and Humanity in Health Care”.

2000: 10th Congress of AEP in Prague

The 10th Congress of AEP was organised in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2000 under the presidency of Professor Norman Sartorius. Its theme was: “Growing together in diversity”.

1998: 9th Congress of AEP in Copenhagen

The 9th Congress of AEP was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1998 under the presidency of Professor Jules Angst. Its theme was: “Standards for psychiatry”.

1996: 8th Congress of AEP in London

The 8th Congress of AEP took place in London, United Kingdom, in 1996 under the presidency of Professor Robin Murray. Its theme was: “A force for the future”.

1994: 7th Congress of AEP in Copenhagen

1984: 1st Symposium in Strasbourg

The 1st Symposium was held in Strasbourg, France, in 1984 under the presidency of Professor Léonard Singer, founding member and first president of the association. The theme of the Symposium was: “Position of French and German-speaking psychiatrists and modern trends in nosology”.
