EPA MEMBERSHIP IS A KEY - The European Psychiatric Association is the largest international association of psychiatrists in Europe, with active members in as many as 66 countries including the international members. Its members include leading European and international experts covering the interests of psychiatrists in academia and in practice.

To be eligible for membership, you need to:

  • work as psychiatrist or be scientist working in the field of psychiatric research
  • be citizen or resident of a European country (i.e. a country belonging to the European Region of the WHO) or be licensed to work in a European country

If you are not citizens or residents of a European country, or are not authorised to practice in a European country, you may become International member (see types of EPA membership for details).

By becoming an EPA member, you join a community of approximately 1650 psychiatrists and professional in mental health care. They deal with psychiatry and its related disciplines and focus on the improvement of care for the mentally ill as well as on the development of professional excellence. Together, EPA members provide an effective voice for our specialty, both on European and international level.

INFLUENCE with your vote at the annual General Assembly the overall policy for carrying out the purposes of the association
