Young Psychiatrists

Today, psychiatric professionals have to adapt to rapid changes in modern health systems in various fields such as ethics, politics and economics. This presents additional challenges as in shaping their professional identity.

To face these aspects and to cover the growing international character of professional living, the Young Psychiatrists Committee of EPA aims to give young professionals a voice in the evolution of training, research and practice standards to enable them to take influence on their own future and carrier progress.

The Young Psychiatrists Committee established the Young Psychiatrists Programme at the annual European Congress of Psychiatry organized by EPA, including special symposia, happy hour meetings, interactive continuing medical education courses, get-together events and meet-the-experts-sessions where young professionals have the possibility to learn from highly achieved European leaders by communicating with them in an informal way.

To support the scientific offspring, special prizes on psychiatric Research and on Prevention are awarded to young psychiatrists.

In addition a Scholarship Programme was introduced in 2007 to ensure the continuity of professional support to highly promising trainees and to start building European networks of which the scholars can take advantages in a life-long way.

Join EPA, apply for grants and prizes, and participate in the exciting development of the European Psychiatry!
