Value of Treatment (VoT) Project: the EPA case study on schizophrenia
EPA is a partner of the European Brain Council (EBC)'s new research project on the Value of Treatment (VoT) for brain disorders (2015 – 2017).
The project will generate evidence on the socio-economic benefits of healthcare interventions through analysis of case studies in order to work towards closing this treatment gap and to develop a workable model of care for brain disorders.
Within this frame, EPA developed a case study proposal on the Cost of Non-Treatment of Schizophrenia. The aim is to provide evidence-based information and give a concise overview of what is needed to overcome the treatment gap in schizophrenia. The working group’s members include EPA experts as well as other key stakeholders interested in the field of schizophrenia (LSE, ECNP, GAMIAN, EUFAMI) and industry partners.
