Contribute to the development of a European Pain Research strategy!

The European Psychiatric Association (EPA) is a member of the European Pain Forum, an initiative of the European Pain Federation EFIC that brings together all scientific societies relevant to pain science and pain management.

EFIC is working on the development of a Pain Research Strategy, which will form a pillar in European pain research plans for years to come. The overarching vision is to optimise understanding and management of pain through promoting high-quality, collaborative basic, pre-clinical, translational, and clinical research. EFIC is involving the European Pain Forum members in this project, as multidisciplinary aspects should be considered within any pain research strategy.

The current phase of the strategy development involves a survey to be completed by researchers involved in pain science, asking them to comment on priorities established initially by a multidisciplinary steering committee. You can find a link to the survey below.

The survey takes approximately 45 minutes to complete in full, but you can skip questions on priorities that are not relevant to your interests or fields of expertise. As a reward for participation, EFIC will pick one survey participant from a blind draw who will receive a complimentary year of EFIC Academy membership, providing access to EFIC online learning material for a year.

The deadline to complete the Pain Research Strategy survey is 10 December 2022.
