EPA President at the Brain Health Summit

EPA President, Prof. Andrea Fiorillo, spoke at the Brain Health Summit in Brussels on 18 March 2026.

The Brain Health Summit was once again organised by the Brain Health Mission and our partners, the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), the European Brain Council (EBC), and the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS), as part of Brain Health Week.

Across the lifespan, the links between mental disorders, neurological conditions, and other disabling illnesses are becoming ever clearer. One message stands out: brain and mental health cannot be advanced in silos. The brain does not recognise boundaries between disciplines, and neither should we. Only by working together can we truly improve lives and build a healthier society. If we speak and act together, we are stronger.” Prof. Andrea Fiorillo

The Summit brought together clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and advocates to discuss developments in brain health across the lifespan. The meeting focused on the importance of early-life factors, lifelong brain function, and collaborative approaches to understanding and addressing neurological conditions, while also highlighting ongoing efforts toward more coordinated strategies for brain health at the European level. The event continued with discussions at the European Parliament.
