Section mission
This Section's mission is to:
Promote high standards in research, training, and clinical practice in the field of brain stimulation and neuromodulation in patients with mental illnesses.
Section objectives
- Enhance knowledge and awareness about brain stimulation and neuromodulation for the treatment of psychiatric disorders in Europe.
- Promotion of public healthcare, research and training in the field of brain stimulation and neuromodulation for mental health.
- Development of European guidelines on the use of brain stimulation and neuromodulation in mental health.
- Dissemination of knowledge about brain stimulation and neuromodulation to patients, their relatives and European patients’ associations.
- Promotion of brain stimulation and neuromodulation in national European psychiatric societies.
- Foster collaboration and innovation: facilitate interdisciplinary and cross-national research collaborations and develop innovative interventions to improve clinical outcomes.
- To advance training and education: develop and deliver training programs for healthcare professionals at undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional development.
- Foster collaboration among trainees in Psychiatry and early career psychiatrist with research/clinical centers, advancing research and clinical application in (non)invasive brain stimulation.
- EPA Summer schools and Early Career Psychiatrists Exchange programs with research/clinical centers across Europe.
- To evaluate and compare practices: compare and contrast clinical services, training programs, research initiatives, and policy frameworks to identify best practices and foster standardization.
- To build a network of professionals: establish a community of psychiatrists, clinicians or researchers, where they can easily communicate and exchange ideas faster and more efficiently.
