Section mission

This Section's mission is to:

Increase awareness of concerns related to sexual health in people suffening from mental disorders, links between mental and sexual health and interaction between psychopharmacotherapy and regulation of human sexual response, promote high standards in research, training, and clinical practice integrating fields of psychiatry and sexual medicine in order to provide better integrated patient care.

Section objectives

1. Educate: offer workshops, conference sessions and publications to deliver most recent information on mental and sexual health conditions.
2. Promote good clinical practices and holistic approach on sexual health.
3. Integrate sexual medicine into psychiatric training.
4. Foster research on sexual and mental health: discuss unmet needs and encourage research exploring the intersection of sexual health in mental illness and impact of psychotropic medications on sexual h
5. Advance training and guidance for mental health professionals.
6. Enhance patient-clinician communication related to sexual health.
7. Provide networking opportunities: bring together mental and sexual health professionals to share knowledge and research.
8. Advocate for policy change: work towards ensuring sexual health services are integrated into mental health care systems.
