World Mental Health Day: Promoting Awareness, Support, and Well-Being for All

Access to high-quality, inclusive healthcare is a human right that must be safeguarded at all costs.

For many years, the EPA has been committed to supporting psychiatrists and psychiatrists in training by providing the necessary tools to deliver appropriate care to patients.

Times of crisis – such as those we face today and those we have experienced in the past – can severely affect livelihoods and relationships, while also exacerbating inequalities, poverty and discrimination. In such contexts, we must mobilise and make every effort to ensure that everyone has access to effective and affordable healthcare, regardless of their background and personal circumstances.

Investing in mental health must be a priority. We need to provide adequate services to those in need, with a focus on strengthening response capacities. This includes training frontline responders, integrating mental healthcare into emergency plans and developing flexible models of care such as mobile clinics and community-based networks.

Now more than ever, we must speak out. We must take action. We must show our support.
