How should we build bridges? Questions, challenges, solutions in psychiatry

The Hungarian Psychiatric Association’s 25th annual Conference took place in Budapest from 28 September to 1 October 2022. The Conference’s motto was ‘How should we build bridges?.

The well-organised assembly began with a welcome from Assoc. Prof. Gyorgy Szekeres, the current President of Hungarian Psychiatric association (HPA) and of the Conference, with messages from Peter Takacs (Hungarian Secretary of State for Health) Prof. Laszlo Harsanyi (Board Member of the Hungarian Doctor Associations) and Gyula Kincses, MD (President of the Hungarian Medical Chamber).

Honorary membership of the HPA was awarded to Prof. Peter Falkai and Prof. Philip Gorwood.

The Conference’s programme included many important current topics, presented by leading experts in psychiatry from Hungary and around the world. Prof. Gorwood took a brief look into today’s research on eating disorders, while Prof. Falkai emphasized the importance of exercise in patients living with schizophrenia.
